February: 5K Every Day

February: 5K Every Day

Sport Walk organized a February challenge: complete at least 5 kilometers every day, either running or walking, and post it in their Strava group. I decided to give it a try. There was nothing particularly dramatic about it — 5K is roughly where I am right now, so I simply ran or walked it, outdoors or on the treadmill, posted it, and that was it.

There were nearly twenty of us doing the challenge, and the really surprising part was that everyone who started actually finished. Not a single dropout. That is rare — and it is usually the sign of a well-designed challenge. The goal is realistic, so anyone who is serious about it can keep up. And seeing the daily posts was genuinely motivating: when everyone else is doing it, you do it too.

At the end, I got a certificate. A nice gesture. But the best part was that on every single day of February, I either started or ended the day with some movement — and it never really felt hard. Though, to be fair, Eszter might tell that part a little differently.

It was absolutely worth trying. Do you usually take part in longer challenges like this?
